A few weeks ago Angela Searls, Director of Human Resources, announced that NHC has once again been awarded one of OregonLive’s Top Workplaces 2022 – for the third year in a row!

This is our favorite honor, and ultimately our staff deserve the recognition.

The award process is based entirely on staff feedback collected through an employee engagement survey conducted by a third party.

This award is such an honor for NHC as it demonstrates how engaged our staff is. To be considered for a Top Workplace Award 80% of staff must respond to the survey.  This year over 80% of our staff responded.

The Top Workplace employee engagement survey has three major parts:

• Motivation: Are your employees motivated to give their very best each day?
• Referral: Are employees willing to refer others to work at your company?
• Commitment: Are your employees loyal, or do they spend time searching for a different job?

The positive feedback we get from answers to workplace culture questions like “Do people feel genuinely appreciated?”, “How strong are the company values?” and “Do employees feel supported by their managers?” shows how engaged and committed our staff is.

NHC’s culture creates a positive workplace and encourages staff to connect and grow. This culture also attracts quality, like-minded people who believe in our mission, vision, and values, and the work we do every day.  And in so many ways, this workplace culture positively enhances the patient experience.

But NHC, like so many others, has much work to do. Each year, this survey is one way NHC identifies areas of improvement.  Continuous improvement ensures NHC stays a Top Workplace for our staff members.  We believe our success is largely supported by NHC’s collaborative, supportive, high-quality culture that is committed to continuous improvement.

Without a doubt, our staff make NHC the great place it is. The amazing work our staff do every day is what makes NHC an OregonLive’s Top Workplace 2022 once again.
