This position will assist the pharmacist in filling, dispensing, and driving/delivery prescriptions to patients of the NHC Hunziker Pharmacy.  The pharmacy technician is responsible for helping NHC patients access high cost and/or specialty medications and medical supplies through interfacing with community pharmacies and insurance plans. This position will also provide administrative support to the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager.

Essential job duties:

• Manage medication prior authorization requests for all NHC primary care clinics
• Review PA requests and gather needed information from dispensing pharmacy, insurance plan, prescribing provider, and patient chart
• Complete PA paperwork and submit to insurance company for review
• Coordinate communication between prescribing provider, insurance plan, and dispensing pharmacy
• Uses NHC delivery vehicle to deliver prescriptions to patient homes after release and counseling by pharmacist on duty

Education and experience:

• This position requires a high school diploma or GED
• 2+ yeras experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Active Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
• Active drivers license
• Active automobile insurance
• Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish highly preferred
