Behavioral Health Associate

The Behavioral Health Associate promotes patient-centered collaborative care, teaches coping skills, and works with patients to modify health behaviors. This position will allow the Associate to receive additional support from the NHC Behavioral Health team while they complete their training. This position is open to those in pursuit of their state licensure and who have approved external supervision.

Essential job duties:

  • Provide integrated supportive services for primary care patients
  • Provide appropriate resources and support linkage to clients
  • Complete screenings using standardized tools from the DSM5
  • Provide education and tools around coping with both mental health and medically related conditions
  • Work with primary care providers to ensure both the psychosocial and medical needs of each patient are met

Education and experience:

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • LPC-Associate or CSWA with current supervision required
  • Must maintain continued work towards licensure
  • Must be fluent in Spanish
