Health Disparities and COVID-19: Living Our Mission

Community Health Centers were born out of the 1960s Civil Rights and Social Justice Movement in part as a mission to affirm the value of all people.

As a Community Health Center that provides care to all, with a focus on serving vulnerable and diverse populations, we see the direct effect of physical and mental abuse, stress, and structural policy barriers on the health and wellbeing of our patients.

We, at Neighborhood Health Center, uphold the vision of social justice, inclusion, the importance and values of health equity, and strive to provide high-quality healthcare for all by building healthy communities one neighbor at a time.

Data suggests a disproportionate burden of illness and death among racial and ethnic minority groups, recognizing that COVID-19 death rates among Black/African American persons and Hispanic/Latino persons are substantially higher than that of White or Asian persons.

All immigrants and persons of color wishing to receive COVID-19 screening, with or without symptoms, are welcome.

Receiving COVID-19 healthcare services will NOT activate the Public Charge Rule. Simply call 503-848-5861 to schedule a screening today.
