COVID-19 Patient Reminders: How to Stay Healthy and Seek Care

We are dedicated to wellness at your Neighborhood Health Center. Due to the highly contagious nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking extra precaution to protect both patients and staff.

Read below for tips to help keep yourself healthy, and information to help you make an appointment or contact your NHC care team.

Keep Yourself Safe

Please try to stay home as much as possible. Governor Kate Brown has asked Oregonians to stay six feet away from one another and not to go outside except for essentials or exercise.

Washing your hands the right way will make a big difference in stopping the spread of COVID-19: 

  • Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 30 seconds.
  • If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer or antiseptic wipes.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are visibly sick.

When you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve. Do not use your hand to cover your mouth or nose when coughing or sneezing.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, the flu or a cold, please stay home until you no longer have symptoms. Avoid contact with others in your household. 

Call Before You Come

If you have difficulty breathing that is worrisome to you or any other potentially life-threatening symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency care. 

Any patient with flu or Coronavirus-like (COVID-19) symptoms – including fever, upper respiratory congestion, a sore throat or difficulty breathing – should contact our clinic before arriving at an NHC clinic.

Two ways to contact us:

  • Current patients should use MyChart to communicate directly with an NHC provider. See below for more information on using MyChart.
  • Call 503-848-5861 to speak with an NHC nurse. Please be aware that call times are longer than normal, as we are receiving a high volume of calls.

If NHC is not your assigned provider and you need to find a health care provider, use a mobile phone to call 211.

Contact NHC using MyChart

If current patients would like to request an appointment, we encourage you to contact your NHC provider online using MyChart. If you have been seen by a provider at one of our clinics, you may already have a login for MyChart. 

If you are an existing patient but do not have MyChart setup, please email us at with your mobile number. You will receive a text response with an activation code to use for MyChart sign-up.

NHC Clinic Safety

We want you to feel confident when you come see us. In addition to minimizing patient visits in our clinics, we are regularly disinfecting our clinics and cleaning all surfaces continuously. 

Hand sanitizer is available throughout NHC clinics for patients, employees and visitors. Staff are using disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer to keep work areas safe.
