What To Know: COVID-19

COVID-19 Vaccine Update

NHC will follow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidelines for vaccine roll-out. See eligibility guidelines here: OHA COVID Vaccine Phases

If you are a current patient, you will be notified via MyChart or a phone call when you are eligible to receive a vaccination. Patients can also call 503.848.5847 to reach the COVID Hotline and schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.

About your visit

To help protect patients, visitors, and staff, NHC has established a maximum capacity for each of our clinic lobbies. Signs will be posted in each clinic lobby stating the maximum capacity for that location. If maximum capacity is reached, you may be asked to wait outside or in your car. The receptionist will ask for your phone number and call or text you when your provider is ready to see you.

If you are experiencing respiratory symptoms or have questions about your appointment, please call 503-848-5861 to speak with a member of our care team.

Have you recently traveled outside of the United States? Before scheduling an appointment, NHC will ask if you have traveled outside of the United States within the past 14 days. If you have traveled internationally within the past 14 days, you must wait at least 4 days after returning to schedule an appointment.  You will not need to take a COVID test before your appointment.

Request an appointment

We know our community members have many questions about the COVID-19 virus, as well as NHC’s plans for supporting the health of patients, families, and staff.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please call to request an appointment, and a care team member will help schedule a telephone, video, or in-person visit.

How can I stay healthy?

COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. It’s important to remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus. Here are steps you can take to prevent spread of the coronavirus:

  • Wear a mask or face covering, when you are in public settings. Masks should not be placed on young children under the age of 2, or anyone who has trouble breathing or is otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
  • Put 6 feet of distance between you and others, who don’t live in your household.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home while you are sick and avoid close contact with others.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing.

Can I get screened for COVID-19?

We offer COVID-19 testing at our Hillsboro, Canby, and Oregon City clinic locations. We offer PCR, Rapid, and Same Day COVID-19 testing.

Please call to request a screening appointment: 503-848-5847

What is NHC doing to take precaution?

We have added new measures to ensure patients, visitors, and staff are safe, when they visit an NHC clinic:

  • Daily temperature and symptom checks for staff, patients, and guests
  • All patients must wear a mask while at NHC clinics
  • Patients are asked to limit friends and family, who join at appointments
  • Extra time between appointments to allow for added cleaning and disinfecting
  • Reduction of physical contact between staff and patients
  • Staff wear masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) when caring for patients; these include gowns, face shields and gloves, when needed
